Digital Training Software Resources Ltd. Privacy Policy. |
User privacy, as it relates
to the internet is very important to us. Broadly speaking, user privacy
and data gathering fall under five areas. |
| 1. Data required for diagnostics in the event of an error. | ||
This includes browser identification, client IP address, date and time of login, logout. This information is only recorded on Digital Training's servers. This information is never provided to third parties. |
| 2. Data required for site security. | ||
| Similar to information required for the above. Again, this information is never provided to third parties. In the event of a criminal act such as hacking (defined as attempting to access the secure sections of our site without a valid user ID and password - regardless of whether or not such actions are malicious) or fraud, information will be provided to relevant law enforcement agencies. | ||
| 3. Data regarding general user information. | ||
Certain information is required for user identification, invoicing and normal business transactions. This information forms the basis of our client database and includes current users, expired users and demo account users. Beyond our published listing of users of RISC Analysis (which includes only the company name), this information is never provided to third parties. |
| 4. Data gathered outside the scope of using our domains. | ||
It is not uncommon for web site owners to track additional information regarding visitors to their sites. Where such additional information concerns only a referring site or URL, we consider this harmless. However, in some cases site owners are known to progressively track a users visits to various URLs once leaving their domain. We believe this to be intrusive in the extreme and would welcome legislation to outlaw this practice. Digital Training does not record any user activity outside the scope of our domain. |
| 5. Data gathered and passed on via cookies. | ||
Most web sites (especially those with secure login) require the use of cookies. These are identifiers recorded in your browsers cookie file. For the most part, these do little more than aid in user identification and preferences. However, it is known that some site owners allow third parties to place cookies in user files which subsequently provide information regarding browsing habits to those third parties. We have seen, for example, cookies from company 'x' appear when visiting company 'y' although the two companies are completely unrelated. Again, we believe this practice should be either outlawed or site owners should be compelled to reveal exactly whose cookies they are placing. Where cookies are set for users of RISC Analysis, these are only for login and security purposes. |

| Additional user privacy considerations. | ||

Third parties with access to our servers (maintenance providers) are not authorized to disseminate or view user information outside the scope of any required diagnostics or security functions. Third parties are never authorized to redistribute user information. RISCAnalysis.com contains many links to outside domains. We have no control over how those site owners handle any aspect of user privacy. Refer also to 'data gathering' in our Terms of Use. |
